![]() | Maria Lindberg: “Yellow Ribbon" The piece “Yellow Ribbon” consists of a yellow silk ribbon tied around the trunk of a tree. A tree in the vicinity of the gallery was chosen to inform (the observant) visitors that they were on the right track. Being brought up in Vänersborg, close to the town’s orienteering courses, Maria Lindberg is used to following marked paths. The ribbon’s allusion to the lyrics of the romantic song “Tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree, if you still want me...” speaks for itself about the longing for intimacy and the fear of abandonment.
