![]() | Peter Geschwind The exhibition consists of a pair of false legs dressed in flared Levis jeans and a pair of Adidas trainers that the artist has placed inside a triangular advertising pillar on the pavement outside the gallery. This macabre joke really worked. Several members of the public at the opening went along with it until they gradually exposed Geschwinds very realistic illusion. The next day the police received an emergency phone call from a lady who lived in the flat above the gallery. She told them that a real person was standing inside the advertising pillar and that he had been standing there all night! The police promised to come but it took a while. The lady took matters into her own hands and armed with a hammer she went down to the street to check if the legs did in fact belong to a living person. At the same moment, the police finally arrived: two burly constables removed the legs. All this was witnessed by two lads at a nearby pizzeria who assured the police that the peeping Tom of Ynglingagatan was indeed an artwork and didnt need to go down to headquarters for questioning.
