A woman today is forced to live up to bodily and sexual ideals that can only be achieved by denying one's own feelings and natural, basic human needs - ''hunger". Bulimia and self-hatred are in other words the desperate child's/woman's cry for help in a hopeless situation. The American artist Sue Williams shows with the help of humour that one can fight one's way out of this oppression - and seeing that the patriarchal oppression of women makes her sick - she throws up a large abject ''vomit".
