The Dane Verner Panton is one of the most influential post war designers. "Heart Chair" from 1958 defies the connection between form and function. "Heart Chair" is rather uncomfortable but on the other hand it contains all the more vision for the future. Panton accelerates the optimistic colours in post-war design to an almost hysterical level and frees form from all its functional demands. "Heart Chair" is, quite simply, much more than an armchair.
