Henrik Plenge Jakobsen

Henrik Plenge Jakobsen has compared his art to a mental virus that infects our ideas. In one of Copenhagen´s more fashionable areas he placed a 5 metre high, glowing syringe. In ARKIPELAG´s project room last year he commented on our culture´s fascination with macabre crime by recreating the shower room from Hithcock´s ”Psycho”. The repressed, dark sides of the welfare state become apparent and the line between fiction and reality is erased. At Ynglingagatan 1 Jakobsen exhibits a wall painting. Civilisation´s critique on the brink of the new millennium. (This exhibition is a collaboration with IASPIS where Henrik Plenge Jakobsen is resident this spring).
