Artistic creation is often is about putting together different images, objects, sounds etc. in a new context in order to create something else. Christine Ödlund and Dan Lageryd + Niedermeier in Mongoo have used a slightly different strategy. Christine´s point of departure is other people´s music and images, but instead of giving these sampled elements new meanings she has improved upon the original qualities that first aroused her interest. The result is several computer animations and, in keeping with the absurd videos or distorted snapshots she has previously shown at Ynglingagatan 1 (in November 1995 respective October 1997) an image of a more fun and inspiring existence emerges. Christine Ödlund graduated from The University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in 1995.
